It will be in the early morning that we will collect you at your boat or Hotel. If you didn't have breakfast, it is possible to stop at Artright Courmet & Supermarkt for a breakfast- or Lunchbag. By A/C car or minivan, depending on your group size, we will travel to Aswan (Asouan) about 240km down Luxor.  We will drive through the cities of  Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo.  We will have a rest in one of these places.  Unfortunadly we have not much time to visit this town during this excursion.

Aswan is the ancient city of Swenet, which in antiquity was the frontier town of Ancient Egypt to the south. Swenet is supposed to have derived its name from an Egyptian godess with the same name.

Two dams straddle the Nile river at this point: the newer Aswan High Dam, and the older Aswan Dam or Aswan Low Dam. The aim of this water project was to prevent the river's flooding, generate electricity and provide water for agriculture. The old Aswan Dam is about 1000 km up-river from Cairo or 686 km as the crow flies heading 166,8 degrees. The new Aswan High Dam is 4 km upriver from the older dam.

By small motorboat we will go to the Island of Philae. For Philae, being accounted one of the burying-places of Osiris, was held in high reverence both by the Egyptians to the north and the Ethiopians to the south, and it was deemed profane for any but priests to dwell therein, and was accordingly sequestered and denominated the unapproachable.

You can visit many amazing temple's on this small Island.

After this, depending of the available time, you can visit for example the Old Catharact Hotel, in where Agatha Christy wrote "Murder on the Nile", visit the broken Obelisk or the Nubian House. However the highway to Luxor closes at 18:00, and before this time we have to leave to Luxor.

This is a 1-day tour, start at about 07.00 return in Luxor about 18:00
