ACE was opened in July 2000 by two animal lovers (Kim and Julie) who had initially come to Egypt on holiday. They were so distressed by the condition of the horses and donkeys they saw around Luxor, they decided to do something to help.

A special excursion, to a special place.  We start at 09.00AM at hour office, and we will have a cycling tour through Luxor and its rural areas and we will arrive at ACE Animal hospital.  We never now what to expect when we arrive.  Normally we immediatly wil get a tour through the complex and speak to one of the founders.  Also we can see other activities, but this depence of coincidence.

The picture on the left shows the veterinary centre within ACE on a typical morning and the one on the right shows the excitement when new "second hand" tack arrives from England.

On the left we see a calash horse being shoed whilst other horses have a shower.

If you can, and have luggage space available, we are always in need for;

Bandages (Urgent)

Any crepe or Co-hesive bandage as this is impossible to get here, you may know a nurse or hospital worker that can help but they need to come in a suitcase and not posted.

Towels

Any size, from Hand Towels to Bath Towels, these are used for our small animals. Please search your airing cupboard !!

Crush Cage

Don't worry it is not as bad as it sounds. We need a cat sized crush cage. This is a special cage that allows us to inject a cat without causing it too much distress or us getting our fingers bitten.

Frontline Spray

We are always in need of Frontline spray for the treatment of Fleas, Ticks and Lice on dogs and cats.

Head Collars

Only pony and cob sizes are suitable as the full size is too large for Egyptian horses.

Bits

Bits 4 inch and under. We do need these but due to their weight please only get as many as you or a friend can bring over.

Duct Tape

Duct tape is very good for holding hoof treatment in place.
